In collaboration with curator Susan Williamson, I co-designed and -implemented “The Art of the Musical Instrument” exhibit at the Carroll County Arts Council June 20-Aug 9, 2019. This exhibit featured musical instruments as crafted art objects with diverse histories. This exclusive exhibition showcased the work of local artists: instrument builder Robert Caswell; instrument builder and photographer Ken Koons; visual artist Carol Siegel, who repurposes broken musical instruments into meaningful art pieces; and photographer Pamela Zappardino. Weaving together sound, narrative, history, and instruments, this exhibit revealed the artistry, craftsmanship, and histories of select musical instruments.
